About Us
Action in Autism is a lobbyist, support and fundraising nonprofit organization for people with autism and their families. Our main objective is to improve the quality of life for people with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and their caregivers by building partnerships between people with ASD, their families and the community to provide information, services, learning and research.
Autism is a lifelong condition that impacts on all areas of communication and social interaction. The condition can sometimes manifest itself in severe behavioral problems and cognitive impairment.

Action in Autism’s Vision
To ensure that people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders are respected, accepted and valued as members of society. To ensure that all people with Autistic Spectrum Disorders access appropriate educational intervention.
Objectives
- To establish resources catering for people with Autism within the geographic region of KwaZulu Natal.
- To provide an assessment and resource centre for specialist information and advice to the families and services caring for people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- To establish a training centre for educators.
- To constitute lobby and pressure groups to advance the cause of persons with autism.
- To promote advocacy and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Add to the growing community of people with autism and their families, caregivers, health care professionals and educators. Together we can make a difference in the lives of those we love, care for, educate and enable.
